Complete capability guide

Managed VICIdial Features

Explore dialling, inbound routing, agent, supervisor, recording, reporting, security and scaling capabilities. Every feature depends on the selected configuration, infrastructure, carrier services, integrations and package.

Outbound dialling

Outbound dialling

Predictive, adaptive, ratio, manual, agent-controlled and message campaign options.

Predictive Dialling

Automatically places calls based on configured campaign settings and agent availability, with the objective of connecting answered calls to available agents efficiently. Predictive dialling does not guarantee zero dropped calls or a specific productivity increase.

Adaptive Dialling

Allows campaign dialling behaviour to be adjusted using configurable parameters and recent campaign performance.

Ratio Dialling

Permits administrators to control the approximate number of calls placed relative to available agents.

Manual Dialling

Allows agents to enter and call authorised telephone numbers manually, subject to permissions and campaign rules.

Agent-Controlled Dialling

Allows an agent to initiate a call from an assigned lead or customer record.

Broadcast or Message Campaigns

Support configured outbound call flows that play messages or route responses according to campaign design and applicable regulations.

Lead Recycling

Selected call outcomes can be returned for another attempt according to configured timing and attempt rules.

Alternate-number Dialling

Properly configured campaigns can attempt additional authorised numbers associated with a lead.

Answering-Machine Detection

A configurable technology that attempts to classify whether a human or machine answered. Detection is not perfect and results vary according to carrier, audio and campaign conditions.

Inbound contact centre

Inbound contact centre

Queue, routing, IVR, recording and service-level capabilities for incoming calls.

Inbound capabilities

Automatic call distribution, inbound groups, queue announcements, hold music, queue position or estimated-wait options where configured, skills and rank-based routing, priorities, availability routing, overflow and after-hours routing.

Call flows

Call menus, interactive voice response, direct inward dial routing, callback queue options and on-hook agent options where supported.

Customer context

Caller-ID lookup, screen pops, customer-record display, recording, service-level reporting and abandoned-call reporting.

Blended communications

Blended communications

Agents can be configured to handle inbound and outbound work from a unified interface, plus other supported channels where properly configured. Every channel is not included in every ViciHost package.

Agent interface

Agent interface

A practical browser-based workspace for authorised users.

Agent workspace

Browser login, campaign selection, lead and customer information, custom scripts, form fields, CRM links, notes and data updates.

Call handling

Call, hold, hang-up, transfer, queue transfer, warm transfer, three-way conference, park and grab-parked-call options where configured.

Workflow

Dispositions, pause codes, personal and campaign callbacks, scripted questions, call history according to permissions, multi-language options and remote-agent capability.

Supervisor and quality controls

Supervisor and quality controls

Operational visibility and permitted live-assistance workflows.

Live supervision

Real-time agent and call status, campaign activity, pause and wait status, session visibility, queue visibility and remote logout.

Quality controls

Monitoring, whisper, coaching, barge or conference options, recording search, quality workflows, dashboards, ticker options and group restrictions. Monitoring features must be used according to local privacy, labour and call-recording laws.

Campaign management

Campaign management

Campaign-specific control over dialling, lead sources, scripts and outcomes.

Campaign configuration

Multiple campaigns, dial methods, pacing, lists, list mixing, lead filters, scripts, custom fields, statuses, result logic, callbacks and recycling.

Policy and routing

Time zones, local calling-time restrictions, caller ID, transfer destinations, drop-call routing, answering-machine actions, recording settings, quotas and duplicate-lead checks where configured.

Lead and data management

Lead and data management

CSV import and export, multiple lists, custom fields, statuses, segmentation, source tracking, ranking, filters, time-zone handling, DNC checks, suppression lists, retention planning and API-based insertion or updates.

Call recordings

Call recordings

Automatic or selective recording linked to call records, search, authorised playback or download, naming rules, archive storage, retention, export, encryption options, role-based access, QA use and storage monitoring.

Customer responsibility

Customers are responsible for ensuring that calls are recorded, stored, accessed and retained in accordance with applicable law and customer-consent requirements.

Reporting and analytics

Reporting and analytics

Standard, configurable and custom reporting options.

Operational reporting

Real-time campaign and agent reports, login activity, pause codes, call statuses, outbound and inbound performance, service levels, abandoned calls, drop reports, call details, dispositions, sales and list performance.

Extensions

Carrier or trunk reports where available, recording reports, exports, automated reports where configured, custom report development and database or BI integration. Not every report is available by default.

Administration and access

Administration and access

Administrator interface, user accounts and groups, role-based permissions, campaign, report, recording, list and inbound-group restrictions, audit visibility, password policies, two-factor options where supported, IP controls and separate team permissions.

Telephony

Telephony

SIP trunk connectivity, multiple carriers, inbound numbers, caller ID, failover options, routing, codecs, menus, voicemail, conferences, transfers, queues, prompts, music on hold, recording, DTMF, remote agents, WebRTC options and SIP-phone compatibility subject to testing.

Carrier note

Carrier services, telephone numbers, call rates, caller-ID rules and channel capacity may be supplied separately and are subject to provider availability and local regulations.

APIs and integrations

APIs and integrations

Supported VICIdial interfaces and secure middleware.

Non-Agent API

For approved operations such as lead management, call initiation, data retrieval and administrative workflows supported by available functions.

Agent API

For supported actions associated with the agent interface and active agent sessions.

Web forms and screen pops

Open external records or workflow pages using lead and call information.

Custom middleware

Secure middleware can connect systems where direct integration is unsuitable. Designs consider authentication, IP restrictions, validation, logging, rate controls, error handling and secure credential storage. API credentials are never placed in browser-side code.

Security and compliance support

Security and compliance support

HTTPS, firewall configuration, restricted administration, password practices, roles, two-factor options, maintenance, database controls, backup policies, recording controls, audit visibility, encryption options, retention planning, logs, secure APIs, DNC and calling-time controls.

Compliance responsibility

ViciHost provides technical controls that may assist customers with their compliance programmes. Each customer remains responsible for obtaining legal advice, configuring lawful campaign rules, securing proper consent and meeting all regulatory obligations.

Scalability

Scalability

Architecture is assessed against workload, risk and budget.

Single-Server Deployment

Suitable for smaller operations when capacity, redundancy and recording requirements allow.

Multi-Server Cluster

Distribute telephony workloads and separate other roles where required.

Dedicated Database Server

Provide database resources separately for larger or more demanding environments.

Dedicated Web Server

Separate browser and administration traffic where scale or architecture requires it.

Recording and Archive Storage

Move older recordings to dedicated storage according to retention requirements.

Redundancy and High Availability

Architecture options can reduce single points of failure, subject to package design and budget. Capacity depends on concurrent calls, dial method, carrier performance, recordings, reports, integrations, codecs and hardware.
